Airport Minsk

On July 24, 2018 the President  of the country Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the Decree on the increase of the period of a visa-free stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Belarus up to 30 days, provided they enter the country and then leave the state border at the National Airport Minsk.

For a visa-free entry into Belarus, a foreign citizen must carry a valid passport or a document substituting it intended for travel abroad, monetary funds (for each day of stay, the amount in hard currency or Belarusian rubles equivalent to not less than two basic values or 50 base units  if the stay is full 30 days) the medical insurance policy in force in Belarus for the amount of not less than 10 thousand euros. NB: 1 base value is equivalent to Br 24.5.

In addition, for citizens of Vietnam, Haiti, Gambia, India, Lebanon, Namibia and Samoa, it is necessary to have a valid multiple entry visa for the EU or Schengen states in the passport with the entry mark on their territory, as well as air tickets with confirmation of departure from the National Airport Minsk within 30 days from the date of entry.

The decree contains a list of states whose citizens have the right to use the regime of visa-free entry and exit, with the exception of countries with which Belarus has concluded bilateral agreements on the mutual abolition of visas.

With regard to Chinese citizens, this order of visa-free entry into Belarus will be applied until August 10, 2018 - until the entry into force of the bilateral agreement on mutual visa-free regime for holders of ordinary passports.

The procedure for visa-free travel through the airport does not apply to persons arriving in Belarus by flights from Russia, as well as planning to fly to Russian airports: such flights are internal, border control is not carried out on them. Also, there is no visa-free regime for foreign citizens traveling to Belarus for employment, business and training, the duration of which exceeds 30 days.

The terms of visa-free stay are calculated in whole calendar days. The first day is the date of arrival, the last is the date of departure (regardless of the time of arrival or departure). In this case, the period of visa-free stay cannot be extended beyond the established 30 days.

Foreign citizens who intend to stay in Belarus for more than five working days must register with the internal affairs bodies at the place of their stay in the country. When staying in hotels, hostels, sanatoriums and other collective accommodation facilities, registration by the administrations of these institutions by default during check-in.
