Tour description: This tour is not meant for experts in arts. It is for everyone who appreciates the beautiful be it the surrounding nature, music, fine arts or just someone’s extraordinarily happy life. Along with an acquaintance with a magnificent city of Minsk – the capital, you will visit the city of Vitebsk, one of the oldest in Belarus (982). During your stay in Vitebsk you will have a look at works created by Marc Chagall - one on the most successful man of the first part of the 20th century. Marc Chagall’s brilliant travel into the world of arts started from this city where he was born. This city inspired a lot of poets, writers and other famous people. During the tour you will learn a lot, meet people of creative professions and, who knows, may be Vitebsk will encourage you too.

Program

Day 1, Friday: Arrival at «Minsk 2» National Airport - transfer to Minsk (40 km.)  -  check in at the “Monastyrskaya” 3*** hotel - included or optional dinner - overnight at the hotel (B&B);

Day 2, Saturday: Included “Buffet” breakfast –  city tour of Minsk “Minsk – New European capital" : Old Town presenting complex of both Russian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches and monasteries, Merchants’ house, Town Hall and other survived buildings of the past. Visit to the 17th century Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Spirit where one can admire a wonder-working Icon of Our Lady of Minsk, Trinity suburb including a fragment of Minsk of the 19^th century with buildings in a classical style, the then most famous trend in the architecture, Soviet Minsk presenting Independence Square with its unique buildings of pre-war & post – war years, including the Government house – the creation of the brilliant Soviet architect Josef Langbard; drive through the main, Independence Avenue presenting a grandiose post-war reconstruction in the “Stalin Empire” style to have a glimpse at its squares, parks and monuments, Contemporary Minsk with new landmarks in the architecture including diamond-shaped building of the National Library with the observation platform at the height of 72 meters), new prestigious residential neighborhood “Mayak of Minsk”, Ortodox Cathedral of all the Saints and all those who died innocently for our Mortherland - included lunch at the “Svoi” restaurant  – visit to the National Art museum of Belarus rated in the CIS as the third best museum after the Hermitage and the “Russian museum in St. Petersburg - departure for Vitebsk (train No.714Б,   19.53 – 23.08)  - transfer from the railway station to the “Eridan” 3*** hotel – check-in at the hotel - included dinner - overnight in the hotel (B&B);

Day 3, Sunday: Included “Buffet” breakfast – city tour of Vitebsk – “Vitebsk and Marc Chagall “ (extraordinary churches, fascinating Old town and the Vitba River with unique buildings of the past) - visit to the museum of Vitebsk People’s Art School  founded by Marc Chagall in 1919 - included lunch downtown - visit to the Art – Center of Marc Chagall to see the artist’s original work with famous images: flying lovers, fiddler on the roof, acrobats, animals and birds - included lunch in the restaurant down town- visit to the House – Museum of Marc Chagall where the artist spent his childhood and youth, artist’s sketches, family photographs, pictures made in Germany, Paris and US, will remind that you heard about him long ago but never guessed he was from Belarus - “Violin of Mark Chagall” Program (Optional: pieces of classical & Jewish music, tea from a real Russian samovar in the garden of the museum) - Overnight in the hotel (B&B);

Day 4, Monday:

Packed breakfast – departure for Minsk (fast train No. 703Б (06.33 – 09.33)

Supplement for single accomodatioon  40 Euros

The price includes: accommodation at 3***, 4**** hotels  in a twin or double  room (3 nights), half board, transport for a tourist program,  services of a national escort, guides on the route and in museums, medical insurance.
