Tour description: It is impossible to imagine a tour to Belarus without visiting its capital, Minsk. Minsk is a large and modern European city with wide avenues, beautiful architecture, a cozy “Trinity Suburb” with small picturesque houses and narrow cozy streets, impressive temples of the Old Town, and amazing sports arenas. You will learn a lot aboutt our traditions and taste dishes of the Belarusian national cuisine in the two amazing museums “Dudutki” Museum of Folk Technologies and Handicrafts and “Strotchitsy” Museum of Folk Architecture.
Tour duration: 3 days/3 nights, half board
Program:
Day 1, Friday: Arrival at Minsk - check in at the “Belarus” 3***hotel, overnight at the hotel (B&B);
Day 2, Saturday: Included breakfast – city tour of Minsk “Minsk – New European capital:” Old Town presenting complex of both Russian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches and monasteries, Merchants’ house, Town Hall and other survived buildings of the past. Visit to the 17th century Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Spirit where one can admire a wonder-working Icon of Our Lady of Minsk. Trinity suburb including a fragment of Minsk of the 19th century with buildings in a classical style, the then most famous trend in the architecture, Soviet Minsk presenting Independence Square with its unique buildings of pre-war & post – war years, including the Government house – the creation of the brilliant Soviet architect Josef Langbard; drive through the main, Independence Avenue presenting a grandiose post-war reconstruction in the “Stalin Empire” style to have a glimpse at its squares, parks and monuments, Contemporary Minsk with new landmarks in the architecture including diamond-shaped building of the National Library with the observation platform at the height of 72 meters), new prestigious residential neighborhood “Mayak of Minsk”, Ortodox Cathedral of all the Saints and all those who died innocently for our Mortherland included lunch at the "Svoi" restaurant - visit to “Strotchitsy” Museum of Folk Architecture (a Skansen museum of People’s architecture and everyday life of the -18th — 19th centuries presents an original wooden architecture of a Belarusian village: a wooden Orthodox church, a public barn, primary school, a pub; dwelling houses of villagers - overnight in the hotel (B&B);
Day 3, Sunday: Included breakfast – visit to “Dudutki” Museum of Folk Technologies and Handicrafts (an open–air museum recreating an economic mechanism of the country estate of the 18th-19th centuries: workshops of wood-processing, a porter’s, a smithy, a bakery, a cheese dairy, a distillery and the only surviving wind mill in Belarus) - included lunchwith dishes and drinks of the Belarusian National cuisine free time - overnight in the hotel (B&B).
