Tour Description

If you really want to see Belarus it is not enough to visit just a capital. To know it better one should visit a regional capital and even a small town. Moreover, only when you see a Belarusian village only then you will feel you would have learnt almost everything about Belarus. This tour offers such a unique opportunity. During this tour  apart from the capital city of Minsk you will visit the city of Mogilev, the regional capital of the Mogilev region and the main city of  of Eastern Belarus that saw most of the Russian emperors including Nicholas II, the last Russian tsar. On the route from Mogilev to Vitebsk you will drive through a small town of Shklov of the Mogilev region and to crown all see two Belarusian villages that is Alexandria I and Alexandria 2.  Both are connected with the childhood of our president  Alexander Lukashenko.

Tour duration: 3 days/3 nights, half board

Program:

Day 1, Friday: Arrival at Minsk  -  check in at the “Belarus” 3***hotel, overnight at the hotel (B&B);

Day 2, Saturday: Included breakfast – city tour of Minsk “Minsk – New European capital:” Old Town presenting complex of both Russian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches and monasteries, Merchants’ house, Town Hall and other survived buildings of the past. Visit to the 17th century Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Spirit where one can admire a wonder-working Icon of Our Lady of Minsk. Trinity suburb including a fragment of Minsk of the 19th century with buildings in a classical style, the then most famous trend in the architecture, Soviet Minsk presenting Independence Square with its unique buildings of pre-war & post – war years, including the Government house – the creation of the brilliant Soviet architect Josef Langbard; drive through the main, Independence Avenue presenting a grandiose post-war reconstruction in the “Stalin Empire” style to have a glimpse at its squares, parks and monuments, Contemporary Minsk with new landmarks in the architecture including diamond-shaped building of the National Library with the observation platform at the height of 72 meters), new prestigious residential neighborhood “Mayak of Minsk”, Ortodox Cathedral of all the Saints and all those who died innocently for our Mortherland included lunch at the "Svoi" restaurant . Departure to the city of Mogilev, transffer to the Moggile 3***hotel- included dinner in the hotel - overnight in the hotel (B&B).

Day 3, Sunday (Mogilev:) Included breakfast in the hotel-  city tour of Mogilev: During the city tour you will walk along Leninskaya (former “Vetranaya” or Big Garden) Street now known as Mogilev “Arbat” among the locals. 2/3 of the 61 buildings are of an architectural value. From Leninskaya Street   you will walk to Square of Stars with its famous modern sculpture of the "Astrologer". The "Astrologer" is sitting on a very high chair. St. Nickolas Convent which includes a remarkable St. Nickolas church famous for its delicate, crochet — like wooden iconostasis. This is also where the icon – portrait of the last Russian emperor Nicolas II is kept. See some other famous buildings such as the Mogilev Regional Drama theatre which have seen a lot of celebrities including members of the royal family, Railway Station square with a remarkable 19th century building of the railway station and a lot of other remarkable buildings of the old and contemporary buildings you are going to see during the tour -  drive to the town of Shklov, district centre of the Mogilev region - city tour of Sklov: the Town Hall, 19th century park with the monument to Zorich -  a favorite of Catherine the Great, monument to a cucumber  - visit to the village of Alexandriya 2 (an example of a new Belarusian village – “agrotown”). The excursion includes a visit to a secondary school visited by our president Alexander Lukashenko, an ethnographical museum in the contemporary building of the school - iIncluded or optional lunch in the café of the hotel (dishes of the Belarusian national cuisine)- overnight in the hotel (B&B);.

Day 4, Monday, (Minsk)
