Each city has its own history and distinct features. Mogilev is not the exception in this respect. Apart from a standard city tour of Mogillev you may go on a fascinating excursion "Mogilev - the Last Residence of the Emperor Nikolas II". During this tour you will learn about the life of the family in the city. The tour includes visit to St. Nickolas Russian Orthodox church to where Nickolas II used to come to pray, walk along the streets which remember his children. His daughters liked to walk round the city and do some shopping. His son Aleksey liked to play with local children on the city ramparts.

The tour includes:

Railway Station square with a remarkable 19th century building of the railway station. The place is connected wit the tragic fate of the last Russian emperor Nicolas II. It was to this station that he arrived as a Commander — in — Chief of the Russian Army in August 23,1915 and it was also from here that he left as an ordinary colonel Romanov after his abdication in 1917;
walk along Leninskaya (former “Vetranaya” or Big Garden) street now known as Mogilyov “Arbat” among the locals. 2/3 of the 61 buildings is of an architectural value. Among the celebrated buildings are the 18th century Archbishop’s Palace and a number of beautiful mansions of the rich with ground floors occupied by various shops;
from Leninskaya street walk to Square of Stars with its famous modern sculpture of the "Astrologer". The "Astrologer" is sitting on a very high chair. There is a huge telescope in front of him, which is surrounded with 12 wrought-iron chairs; the back of each of them is cast in the form of Zodiac signs corresponding to a certain month of the year. Romantic Mogilev residents invented a legend, which says that if you sit on the chair, corresponding to your Zodiac sign for only one minute, you will be unbelievably happy, even in the old age. 
drive to St.Nickolas Convent which includes a remarkable St. Nickolas church famous for its delicate, crochet — like wooden iconostasis. This is also where the icon – portrait of the last Russian emperor Nicolas II is kept. Worth visiting is also St. Stanislaval Cathedral famous for its exterior frescoes made in a picturesque manner; 
see some other famous buildings such as the Mogilyov Regional Drama theatre which have seen a lot of celebrities including members of the family of the last Russian emperor Nickolas II; 
see a building of the City Executive Committee, which is accommodated in the twin building of Minsk Government House. Have you noticed any differences between the two? Probably not and in fact at the end of your tour you will certainly realize that Mogilev  is a worthy competitor to the capital itself.

 Mogilev Regional Art Museum named after P.Maslennikov

The collection is put in the building which is the monument of architecture of the beginning of 19th century. Belarusian folk art is of a great artistic value and includes the works of the unique Belarusian icon painting based on the harmonic connection of the Eastern and Western Arts influenced by the local character.140 paintings represent realistic art of the 17th -19th centuries.The museum bears the name of Petr Maslennikov, native of the Mogilvov region, graduate of the celebrated Vitebsk Art School, St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, People’s artist of Belarus, artist- producer in the Bolshoy Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic Belarus. The Gallery represents the artist’s 125 paintings as well as sketches of the decorations and costumes as well as his personal belongings.

Mogilev Museum of Ethnography

300 exhibits of history and culture: archeological findings, coins, votive crosses, icons, items of everyday life, ethnographical collections, military weapons reflecting Lithuanian, Polish and Russian periods in the history of the region. The latest ethnographical collection of the second half of the 20th century is one of the finest examples of the interaction of different cultures.
