National Park "Pripyatskiy"

Welcome to the National Park "Pripyatskiy"!

Excursion to the National Park “Pripyatskiy” includes drive from Minsk to the agrotown of Lyaskovichi with the headquarters of the administration based in the place. It is 250 kilometers to enjoy the beautiful Belarusian landscapes with its woods, meadows, fields, numerous lakes, rivers and villages.

There is a museum of nature and everyday life of the Polesye (the largest area of swamps and woods in Europe) where one can learn the facts of extraordinary wildlife and the traditions and crafts of the people of the area.

In the “Pripyatskiy” they will drive you through the Safari park which gives a visitor an opportunity to admire gracious red and roe deer with over 1, 000 individuals of red dear and 500 roe dear respectively inhabiting the territory of the park.  The park is inhabited by 94 individuals of an aurocks. All in all 45 species of mammals inhabit the National park “Pripyatskiy”.

To crown all you will enjoy a boat trip along the Pripyat River. You will be fascinated by watching numerous birds such as a white heron, a gray crane, many gulls, including the rare ones, listed in the Red Book that is a black stork, green woodpecker, etc.

There is an opportunity to have lunch to taste dishes of the Belarusian national cuisine which includes game and wildfowl meat.

There is a comfortable hotel “Over the Pripyat” to stay for the night.

Museum of Nature in the agrotown of Lyaskovichi

 The museum of nature is housed in an extraordinary building constructed in 2010. The opening ceremony, attended by the president of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, took place on August 25^th, 2012.

The museum has 2 departments that is of nature and the ecological one. The exposition of the nature department reveals the biological diversity of the area: 18 species of animals, 56 species of birds, 8 of which are raptors and 8 species of fish. The ethnographical part includes a typical hut and courtyard of an ordinary family of the 19^th century, with the home inventory, garments and the crafts: weaving, ceramics, traditional undertakings of the people such as fishing, hunting, arable farming and archaic beekeeping.
